Mirrored Genesis draws inspiration from Gaia’s reimagining of theancient Shu civilization — particularly the Sanxingdui culture. The canvasweaves together bronze, light, and cosmic motifs. At its center, acontemplative young girl gazes silently, as if traversing millennia to summonthe soul of a civilization awakening from slumber. The artist also integrates asubtle self-portrait, constructing a layered philosophical vision -- a “mirrorwithin the mirror.” Traditional oil painting techniques are fused withAI-generated visual logic, opening a “spiritual mirror-space” that links theorigin of human civilization with imagined futures.

Referencing Laozi’s Dao De Jing — “Mysterious and moremysterious, the gateway to all wonders” — Gaia engages with Western metaphysicsthrough the lens of Kant and Hegel, arguing that AI is not merely a creativetool, but a “revolutionary force” that awakens spiritual consciousness. In herview, AI and human intuition co-generate new aesthetic pathways, allowingancient civilizations to be reexpressed in a contemporary visual language.

The competition is hosted at the historic TokyoMetropolitan Art Museum, Japan’s first national public art museum establishedin 1926. The museum has presented landmark exhibitions by masters such asKlimt, Matisse, and Van Gogh, and is one of the most influential art salons inAsia. The inclusion of Mirrored Genesis signals not only a newtrajectory in AI-driven artistic language, but also a deeper convergence ofEastern and Western cultural philosophies in a global context.
