       昨天（2月21日）是尼克松总统首次访华50周年纪念日。1972年2月21日至28日，尼克松总统访问了北京、杭州和上海，期间他与毛泽东主席会晤，并与周恩来总理签署了《上海公报》。这是美国总统第一次访问中华人民共和国，也是两国关系正常化进程的开始。尼克松称他的访问为“改变世界的一周”。

       Yesterday (Feb. 21) marked the 50thanniversary of President Nixon's first visit to China. From February 21 to 28,1972, President Richard Nixon traveled to Beijing, Hangzhou, and Shanghai,during which he met Chairman Mao Zedong and signed the Shanghai Communiqué withPremier Zhou Enlai. This marked the first time a U.S. president visited thePeople’s Republic of China and started the process of normalizing bilateralrelations. Nixon dubbed his visit “the week that changed the world.”
