The “Flying Nurses” of Chennault’s 14^th AAF arrive in China. On flying status, the young women serve on the aircraft that evacuate the wounded from forward areas. Other American women assist the U.S. Army in China but these are the first to arrive who are actually members of U.S. military forces. Chinese nurses on duty at the local Army hospital greet the American arrivals.
